"25 years ago, on April 8th, 1973, one of the most brilliant artistic personalities of this century died. Pablo Picasso, painter, graphic artist, sculptor, ceramist, object artist, stage designer and poet is today considered the pioneer and outstanding representative of the art of the 20th century. With this exhibition we seek to bring you closer to Picasso's graphic work."
- Tomas Weber, Managing Director, Galerie Boisseree (Translated from original German)
This exhibition catalogue from Galerie Boisseree's 1998 retrospective on the graphic works of Pablo Picasso is a sentimental piece of ephemera resulting from the outsize impact the artist left on the graphic arts. Printed for an exhibiton to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Picasso's death, this small catalog becomes all the more poignant as we approach the 50th anniversary.
The catalog includes a comprehensive exhibition statement by Tomas Weber, who became Managing Partner of Galerie Boisseree in 1998. This catalog is staple bound and printed in black and white. The text is in German, and this copy is in excellent used condition.
